From July 1949 until October 1952, the Beetle rear will receive few changes, keeping even the lights without chromes, and the same hub caps with the small VW crest.

Main noticeable details :
In March 1950, the sun roof model is finally introduced. Some models have been produced before, but strictly on special order, and their roof were folded unto the rear-windows. The sun roof is available in standard version. The Klaxon nettings are now in polished aluminium. The engine receives an automatic cooling regulator. The Deluxe/export are equipped in serie with hydraulic brakes, except for the Hebmüller that keep the cable brakes as well as the standards. The Deluxe also receive a new driving wheel with two ivory colour branches.

Chassis 156 991 : as from April 3, a curve cut-out is practiced in the glass of thefront window for a slight ventilation.

As from April 3rd, 1950, a curve cut-out is made in the window to improve the air incoming.

April 29, 1950, chassis 62 444 : new heating command, transferred behind the hand-brake. The hand-brake lever gets shorter from chassis 202 071.

May 1950, body 116 021 : new gas tank and boot floor, additional reinforcement.

From 1951 until October 1952, the splits keep the ventilation shutters, only available on the Deluxe/export model, as well as the ribbed bumpers.

On the standard, all the accessories are painted, either in the same colour as the car, or in black.

Main noticeable details:
The Deluxe sedan/convertible, and the cabriolet, receive a crest with the Wolfsburg arms, just above the boot handle. Two additional ventilation shutters at the front, on these same models (the cabriolet only receives them as from the body 3811).

Chassis 244 054 : the shaft shock-absorbers are replaced by telescopic ones.

Chassis 244 667 : the Deluxe receive a chromed moulding around the wind-screen.
