In
1954 a new engine appears. The engine power is brought from
1131 cm3 to 1192 cm3, now delivering 30 "power horses" at
3400 rpm; the bore and stroke are respectively 77mm an 64
mm; the volumetric ratio passes from 5,8/1 to 6,1/1 then
6,6/1. The Type 2 now reaches 60 mph for a 10 liters for a
100 km consumption.
Comfort wise, the front seat
is improved as well as the heating.
The serie is equipped with
rear bumpers, compulsary for city driving.
Chemical rest-rooms are
proposed as an option for the Camping-Box.
On
October 9th, 1954, the 100 000th Type 2 comes out from the
factory.
